Clear adult education, followed by an individual conversation
SMILE-FX® Orthodontic & Clear Aligner Studio publishes this guide from one Miramar practice. It helps adults follow an anterior open-bite assessment, the purpose of proposed tooth or jaw work and the meaning of continuing review. Leah, Noah and their professional explanations are original educational fiction, not real patient histories or quotations from SMILE-FX® clinicians.
The contact-pattern guide, combined-care guide, child-habit guide and upper-jaw-width guide have separate useful jobs. Links take you to those existing lessons when their particular explanation is relevant. The adult examples here develop an explanation, not a diagnostic test or an online method-selection tool.
What the clinical sources contribute
The AAO's 2024 overview supplies bite vocabulary. The BOS orthognathic leaflet explains why tooth work and a proposed jaw change can belong together. UK leaflet arrangements are not SMILE-FX® appointment, hospital or recovery instructions.
The PBRN treatment-success paper from 2020 and stability paper in the 2022 issue concern selected adults in the same US research program. Nonrandom care, different endpoints, small groups and limited follow-up constrain interpretation. They support the distinction between a treatment target, a reported finding and later maintenance; they do not establish your candidacy, a comparative winner or permanent correction.
The selected PBRN reading used indexed primary-article passages; direct article access was limited. No newly archived full article, systematic review or named clinician review is claimed. Use your clinicians' explanation for your own findings, proposed method, alternatives, risks and directions.
Orthodontic support when a surgical discussion is relevant
SMILE-FX® handles surgical orthodontic cases with surgeon collaboration. The orthodontic team explains the proposed tooth work and reviews orthodontic progress. The surgeon explains the proposed operation, its risks and recovery. The actual clinician arrangements and case acceptance are confirmed individually.
This division gives an individual proposal a responsible route for its different questions. It does not mean a jaw operation is performed at the Miramar studio or that a surgical pathway applies to every open bite. The existing surgeon-collaboration explanation describes the service responsibility.
Doctor-led care, from planning through follow-ups
SMILE-FX® offers full-service orthodontics with a digital clear-aligner focus. These care capabilities give your individual proposal a wider context; their availability does not mean each is prescribed for an open bite.
At SMILE-FX®, board-certified orthodontists see every patient, including at follow-up visits. Clinical director Dr. Tracy Miao Liang leads a full-service Miramar practice with a digitally driven clear-aligner focus. Your goals, proposed appliance and continuing care belong in an explanation you can understand.

Understand the proposed plan
AI-assisted precision planning supports your orthodontist's work. Before-and-after smile-preview simulations give you a view of proposed changes, so you can point to what you understand or want explained. A simulation illustrates the plan; it is not a promised result.

Low-dose 3D CBCT imaging supports clinical assessment, detection of findings and treatment planning when indicated. The information helps your orthodontist connect the findings with an explanation of the proposed approach.

Stay connected between visits
Smartphone and iPhone monitoring comes standard with braces and aligner plans. You can send progress information from home between visits for clinical review. Remote monitoring also helps flag issues such as broken brackets or aligners that are not tracking, with the clinical team evaluating what needs attention.

With 24/7 access to provider support, you have a contact route when a question or concern arises. Responses are handled through the clinical team's care arrangements, keeping access to support distinct from a promise of an instant reply.

Connect your plan with practical continuing care
SMILE-FX® makes in-house 3D-printed aligners and offers same-day aligner and retainer options. That connects doctor-led planning with a local fabrication route. Your prescribed appliance and individual arrangements determine which option is used.

For continuing care, SMILE-FX® can ship course-correction aligners to your home. Rescue aligner care provides a doctor-led route for people seeking help with a prior aligner course. Course corrections and Rescue arrangements are set individually alongside the clinical plan.

Custom 3D-printed bracket options are also part of the practice's range. Their off-site manufacturing is separate from local aligner and retainer fabrication, so the appliance and its production route stay clear in your discussion.

Understand your options and included care
SMILE-FX® offers Invisalign and OrthoFX, including AirFlex, alongside night-time aligner options. The range gives you specific choices to discuss, while your orthodontist determines the system and wear instructions for your individual plan. Commercial systems and in-house appliances have their own production routes.

Fixed and removable retainers plus whitening are included at SMILE-FX®. These benefits belong in the full treatment conversation and written proposal, alongside the active appliance and continuing-care arrangements.

At-home and in-office whitening options give a separate color goal its own place in planning. The appropriate method and personal arrangements are decided individually; the availability of both modes does not mean every person receives both.

Use the technology to understand the care
A proposed goal should be explainable. Digital planning, a preview and imaging when indicated can give the orthodontist concrete material to discuss with you. Monitoring and provider access keep a route for progress information and questions visible between visits, with clinical responsibility remaining with the team.
The benefit is a connected planning and review conversation, not an automatic prescription for every listed capability. If you are considering care, plan the real in-person Miramar conversation. If you already have a treating team, continue through its established arrangements.
